The start to something new...

It's crazy to think that this journey for me is finally here! After years of working for someone else (13 years to be exact) I always knew I wanted something of my own. My parents both being entrepreneurs, I was hoping that route would fall into my lap too and now here we are. Like I said in my bio, flowers were always in my blood from both my Mom and my Grandmother being florists. I would help my Mom with weddings from time to time and it wasn't until I left visual merchandising after a decade, that I was able to sink my fingers into some flowers. I had the most amazing opportunity to move to Durham, NC and that is where I found the cutest little cottage of a flower shop close to where I lived. It was the eye opener to my true passion in my life and where I really found myself. Everyday was a learning day and even to this day it still is, I mean there's millions of flowers to learn from, it's incredible! Working in the shop to eventually working in a new one, is where I felt it was the start to my craft. Every artist finds their "it" moment or their confidence level at some point in their journey and I have found mine. I'm a true connoisseur to all things vintage, I have been since I was a little one and always dreamed of having a shop filled with all things repurposed or found. I call myself the constant seeker. It's a blessing and a curse really. This is where Florence & Rose was born, off of finding certain vintage pieces and a dream to be always surrounded with flowers. Now I am guessing you want to know where the name came from? Simple really, off of people that I hold dearly to my heart. Florence was one of the most delighted human beings to enter into my life. She was my Mom's Aunt and we all considered her Grandma, because she acted like ours. Rose is the middle name of most of the women in my life. My Mom, my twin Sister, my Grandmother, and my Niece. They are the two names I hold dearest in my heart and I always said if I had two girls, it would be their names, point blank and that is how the flower shop got its name. I can't wait to sink my fingers into flowers once again and show the desert what I can do! Welcome if you are new to the site and enjoy your time with me at Florence & Rose Floral Co.!
